Wine Guild Tour of North East Victoria September 2008

Wine Courses
The Guild organises a number of Wine Appreciation Courses each year for it’s Members. Various experienced and knowledgeable members plus “eWine” Consulting principals Andrew Corrigan MW and Peter Scudamore-Smith MW conduct these courses.
Introductory Courses cover the wine producing areas in Australia, grape growing, wine production methods, learning wine names, grape varieties, cellar requirements and the tasting of wines.
The Intermediate Wine Course is designed to bridge the gap between the Introductory Course and the level of experience required to appreciate the more advanced Guild tastings.
The Guild regularly organises Advanced Wine Courses covering sensory evaluation, composition, tasting and scoring of wines, wine making techniques and a lot more.

Wine and Food Functions

The Guild has a dedicated Tasting & Events Sub-Committee whose role is to provide wine appreciation opportunities in the broadest sense. This is achieved through a variety of functions held throughout the year. These include major tastings, with a specific educational emphasis - varietal or regional, company presentations with a Winemaker present where possible, dinner events focused on wine and food appreciation and Wine Options competitions.
Members can bring guests to tastings, which are held at various venues in and around Brisbane. Members are advised of these events via the regular mailing of invitations, the Guild's newsletter the "Grapevine", the Guild's web site calendar and email advices.
